Algebraic Patterns

Design: Michal Yerushalmy, Beba Shternberg.

This educational software offers the student the challenge of finding algebraic patterns. On the screen are displayed lattices filled with sets of numbers formed by certain formulas (functions of natural numbers), and the student's main task is to find the rules by which the lattice is built. The student can start by finding "local" rules that hold only in a certain pattern - "a stamp".

The software can be used in two ways:
By exploration - exploring the relations between numbers in a given lattice.
By reconstruction - reconstructing a hidden lattice according to hints appearing on the lattice.
Guidance and suggestions are given all through the various stages of the work.
The software can be used as an auxiliary tool for learning the algebraic language and can also be integrated in the study of various subjects.
The software comes with a teacher's guide and student's workbooks.
