Graph transformations: Vertex Form
Constructing correspondence rules

Your managing editor at a business magazine has sent you graphs with data about the annual profits (in millions of dollars) of six high-tech companies over the last ten years. She asks you to:
Describe in one or two sentences the history of the profits and losses of each of the companies over the last decade.
  • Describe the profits of each of the companies over the last decade using a correspondence rule, so that readers will be able to display the data using their favorite graphic software. She also suggests that the form of the correspondence rule be such that it easily reveals information about maximum or minimum profit or loss.
